Gum Disease

Gum disease is different from a lot of diseases in that it often has no symptoms at all. It’s a chronic disease that can begin when you’re as young as in your twenties. Then, as you get older, it progresses until maybe when you’re in your fifties your teeth become loose and then begin to fall out.

At Glen Dental Center, we check you carefully for gum disease. In many cases the only thing you need is regular dental cleanings. But in some cases you may need more extensive cleanings or other treatments. If you are particularly susceptible to gum disease, we will recommend cleanings three or four times per year. The consequences of untreated gum disease are so serious, and the prevention can be so simple.
