Chicago Invisalign

Invisible Braces

Did you ever wish you could actually straighten teeth without committing to years of traditional braces. Dr. Cohen, besides being one of the few dentists in Chicago who is accredited in cosmetic dentistry, is also certified in Invisalign invisible braces. With this revolutionary orthodontic system, you can have braces and people will not be able to tell. While the computer technology used is very sophisticated, for you the process is simple. A series of clear aligners is made for you. They fit invisibly over your teeth, and you change them every two weeks while they guide your teeth to their correct positions.

You can expect Dr. Cohen to go above and beyond what you can expect from other dentists that do Invisalign. His cosmetic dentistry background, coupled with the fact that he pursued two years of training in orthodontics, means he has gained a unique understanding of how this innovative system can create an absolutely beautiful smile. You can count on him to take his time and explain each step of the process. He will settle for nothing less than perfection when it comes to straightening your teeth into a stunning new smile.

Advantages of Chicago Invisalign

Chicago Invisalign

An Invisalign aligner

Besides being invisible, Invisalign is faster. Treatment usually is completed within six months to a year, as opposed to two or three years with conventional braces.

Invisalign is more comfortable. There are no sharp-edged wires and brackets in your mouth. And when it’s time to eat, just remove them! No more dietary restrictions. To clean your teeth, just take out the aligners and brush and floss normally.

And they truly are invisible. You cannot see them at a conversational distance. Some of our patients report that even close friends and family members don’t notice that they’re wearing braces! Invisalign is perfect for business people who want to correct their teeth without sacrificing their professional appearance.

Disadvantages of Chicago Invisalign

The disadvantage is that Invisalign requires patient compliance, and some teenagers have been known to be forgetful and don’t wear them faithfully.

Also, not every case of misaligned teeth can be corrected with Invisalign. To find out if it will work for you, come in and Dr. Cohen will tell you if this treatment is appropriate for your case.

How Invisalign Works

Treatment begins with a comprehensive examination including a complete set of x-rays. Your bite, the general health of your teeth, the shape of your roots and the amount of crowding are all evaluated. If Invisalign will work for you, then a detailed mold of your mouth is taken. This mold is scanned by a computer, and aligners are manufactured by the computer.

When you begin treatment, the first set of aligners is inserted. You will find that it doesn’t quite fit. This is because it is manufactured so that it pushes your teeth into a slightly different position. After two weeks, the first aligners now fit, so you insert a new set, which moves your teeth a little bit more. As you work through the complete set of aligners, your teeth are gradually moved to their correct, straight positions.

Since all the tooth movements are designed with the help of the computer, they are very precise and efficient. This is why Invisalign is faster than conventional braces—they eliminate all of the back-and-forth movement that happens with regular wire-and-brackets.

Am I an Invisalign Candidate?

Nearly everyone can use this effective teeth straightening method. Invisalign has the highest patient satisfaction rating. In fact, nine out of ten users would highly recommend it to others.

This sophisticated system is safe and works well for most. Although, there are certain cases where it may not be the best treatment option because it cannot be used on an individual whose teeth are not fully erupted.

We invite you to come in for a complimentary consultation if you are considering Invisalign. We can answer any questions you may have and you can personally meet Dr. Cohen. This is also a great opportunity for us to make recommendations based on your specific case and evaluate if it is right for you. Give us a call at 888-771-4602 today.
